Villa Makassar is not a conventional palace hotel. Behind a discreet Kasbah door, two adjoining riads bring together ten individually conceived rooms and suites, each taking its cue from an artist or decorative movement. Mondrian geometry, Ruhlmann refinement and Rodchenko modernism meet Moroccan arches, patios and hand-worked materials. The result feels closer to a private collector’s house than a themed hotel: intimate, tactile and full of discoveries.
