72 Riad Living

Known historically as 72 Riad Living and now styled simply as 72 Marrakech, this Bab Doukkala retreat has welcomed guests since 2001. The house occupies a former 1920s palace and uses its courtyards, carved plaster, timber ceilings and traditional screens as a framework for contemporary furniture, original artwork and the Italian owner's collected aesthetic. Its current six room and suite categories range from an intimate 18 sqm Classic Room to the 75 sqm Arte Suite, whose private panoramic terrace and heated jacuzzi look across the Medina. The rooftop is the social counterpoint to the inward-looking riad: the Sky Lounge, plunge pool and Atlas views create a place to pause above the city. Downstairs, La Table du Riad focuses on seasonal Moroccan cooking, while the WA Hammam & Spa uses natural, plant-based Nectarome products from the Ourika Valley. Personal touches—twice-daily housekeeping, a customised Medina map and a phone for local calls—make the location feel accessible rather than overwhelming.
