The character of the place

A mountain kasbah overlooking the valleys near Asni, known for its singular Berber tents, garden pools and deeply rooted local hospitality.

Perched above a valley near the Berber market town of Asni, roughly an hour from Marrakech, Kasbah Tamadot replaces city intensity with terraces, gardens and long views towards Mount Toubkal. The house became part of Virgin Limited Edition in 2005, yet its character comes less from polished branding than from rooms individually furnished with Moroccan antiques, a team that is entirely Moroccan and a close relationship with surrounding villages. The main kasbah offers intimate courtyard rooms and suites; farther down the hillside, canvas-walled Berber Tents turn the mountain panorama into part of the room, while six post-restoration riads add private pools and rooftop tented suites for families and groups. Days can be deliberately slow around the infinity pool and Asounfou spa, or active with guided treks, cycling, tennis and Moroccan cooking. The property fully reopened after the 2023 earthquake restoration with the new riads and Asayss restaurant, making its community ties — including the work of the Eve Branson Foundation — central rather than incidental to the stay.
