The character of the place

A 14-suite House of Dreams in a traditional Skoura kasbah, where each day, meal and encounter is privately composed around the guest.

Dar Ahlam deliberately steps outside the codes of a conventional hotel: there is no reception desk, room key, fixed timetable or restaurant dining room. Within an earthen kasbah in the Skoura palm grove, the team creates an individual rhythm for every stay, revealing meals in changing private settings and shaping encounters around the season, the landscape and local knowledge. The house opened in 2002 under Thierry Teyssier's direction and now contains 14 suites. A ten-minute walk away, its 2,000 sqm Food Lab brings together around 30 plots of vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants, supporting a locally rooted, increasingly plant-led cuisine while testing ways to cultivate with less water. Optional journeys beyond the house can extend the experience into the desert, the Atlas foothills or the village of Tizkmoudine.
